Tom Slattery

Tom Slattery is an accomplished show jumping rider who has represented Ireland on numerous occasions. He is an accredited Horse Sport Ireland Level 2 coach & has run his own stud/livery/training yard for over 20 years where he successfully trained many riders to international level.

Throughout his career so far, Tom has been 5 times Irish National Champion with 3 of these in succession from 1999 to 2001, within that period he also won 36 National Grand Prix classes. 2009 saw him win the Mini Grand Prix at the Dublin International Horse show along with a 4thplacing in the main Grand Prix which awarded him Leading International rider.

Through sheer dedication, hard work and a great love of the sport Tom has been fortunate enough to ride many great horses over the years. These have brought him to the pinnacle of his career, representing Ireland on numerous Nations Cups Teams. In the latter part of his career Tom was appointed to the International affairs selection committee. Here he was involved in the selection of Irelands Senior Nations Cups teams along with the tremendous responsibility of being the team trainer.

2010 saw Tom appointed Chef d’Equipe/team coach for the Irish Pony showjumping team & also showjumping coach for the Irish Pony eventing team. These teams have achieved European Medals 5 years in succession.

Tom joined Manton Grange Stables in September 2015 where he took up the position of coach/rider for Frederick Goltz. Since then he has been producing and competing our young horses successfully on the international circuit.
